The Benefits of Telehealth

Telehealth has become an increasingly popular option for delivering therapeutic services, particularly in light of recent global events. At Upward Behavioral Health, we offer telehealth services for various conditions and evaluations. Here are some benefits of telehealth for children:

  • Convenience: Families can access therapy from the comfort of their homes, reducing the need for travel and time away from daily activities.
  • Accessibility: Telehealth services can bridge the gap for families living in rural areas or those with limited access to in-person services, ensuring that children receive the support they need.
  • Comfort: Many children feel more at ease in their home environment, which can lead to more effective therapy sessions.

The Benefits of Telehealth

Dr. Ramsey lives in Pennsylvania and has interjurisdictional licensure which allows her to treat children living in most states, making therapy more accessible. If you are new to therapy delivered over telehealth, here are some of the benefits it offers:

  • Flexible Scheduling: Telehealth allows for more adaptable appointment times, reducing the inconvenience of commuting and the need for families to miss school or work.
  • School-Based Therapy: In many instances, school-age children can attend therapy sessions during the school day using a computer in their school counselor's office. This further minimizes disruptions to their academic routine.
  • Home Environment: Providing therapy in a child's home allows Dr. Ramsey to observe them in their natural surroundings. This setting can enhance the therapeutic process by making the child feel more comfortable and at ease.
  • Secure and User-Friendly Platform: Upward’s telehealth platform is safe and secure, ensuring privacy and confidentiality while being easy to navigate for both children and parents.
