Kathleen Ramsey, Ph.D
Clinical Child Psychologist

Kathleen "Katie" Ramsey, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions. She received her doctorate in child clinical psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi and completed her pre-doctoral internship in child and pediatric psychology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and Children's of Alabama, where she was a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Fellow. During this time, she participated in several rotations including the Newborn Follow-up Clinic, Pediatric Psychology Consultation-Liaison Service, Autism Spectrum Disorders Clinic, Pediatric Neuropsychology, and Psychoeducational Clinic. Following this, she completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Center for Autism Research, where she conducted early developmental and autism assessments for infants and toddlers for a research study examining screening tools for autism. During her fellowship, Dr. Ramsey also completed rotations conducting psychological evaluations in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics and providing Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT) services to children with tic disorders.

Currently, Dr. Ramsey serves as a member on the Diversity Committee and as a diversity liaison for the Communication and Technology Committee of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) Autism and Developmental Disabilities Special Interest Group (ASDD SIG). Additionally, she is a member of the Community Advisory Board for Fish in a Tree, a neurodiversity community center in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is thrilled to be providing virtual neurodiversity-affirming assessment services to families in Alabama through Upward Behavioral Health, with the goal of improving access to psychological evaluations to ensure children are able to receive adequate supports in a timely manner.
