Individual and Group Psychotherapy

We offer two treatment modalities at Upward: Individual sessions and Small Group sessions.

Individual sessions are typically 45-minute sessions. We offer Individual sessions for each Targeted Plan of Care.

Small Group sessions are typically 60-minute sessions. Small Groups consist of 5-12 clients. Small Groups are not offered for every Targeted Plan of Care: they are only available for Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Depression, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Anxiety. These treatments have been proven to be equivalently effective whether they are delivered in an Individual or Small Group session. Small Group sessions are considerably more cost-effective; they generally cost about half as much as Individual sessions.

During your complimentary, 15-minute consultation call with an Upward therapist, you can discuss what treatment approach would be the best fit for you. If you decide that an Individual Targeted Plan of Care is the right fit for you, then you will be scheduled for a comprehensive, 90-minute intake and diagnosis session. The cost of this session is $310 (with a licensed mental health therapist) or $400 (with a licensed clinical psychologist). If you decide that a Small Group is the right fit, then you will be scheduled for an abbreviated, 30-minute intake session which costs $100.

We also offer two Community Sleep Education Classes. These classes are available to new and expectant parents and to clients struggling with CPAP use. Since these are classes, not psychotherapy groups, an intake appointment is not necessary to enroll.
